Starting and ending in Breckenridge, the 400+mile tour of the Colorado Rockies goes from June 9-15

The 2018 edition of Ride the Rockies will take 2,000 cyclists on a six-day tour through some of the state’s most stunning areas, including Grand Lake, a quaint town nestled on the banks of Colorado’s largest body of water. And this year the route starts and ends in one of our favorite Colorado towns, the historic ski town of Breckenridge.

On day one cyclists will travel 77 miles from Breckenridge to Edwards, traversing Fremont Pass and Tennessee Pass with a total of 4,429 feet of elevation gain. The following day will cover just short of 80 miles as the ride heads north up to Steamboat Springs where cyclists will stay for two days. The third day, while a relatively short loop day at just 48.4 miles, will have several short but steep climbs totalling 3,317 feet of elevation gain. Somewhat rested, riders will then set out for Grand Lake on day four. The longest day at 93.8 miles and 6,202 feet of elevation gain, the optional loop in Steamboat is a good opportunity to rest up before tackling this monumental day! Day five is another relatively short day of 32 miles to Winter Park (although there is an optional 29 mile out and back ride up to Berthoud Pass). The final 87 miles and 5,187 feet will see riders triumphantly return to Breckenridge for the closing ceremony and lots and lots of beer (and Champagne for us!).
