Located inside a restored landmark building downtown, the property effortlessly blends historic charm with contemporary touches
Earlier this year, trendy and upscale brand Kimpton opened another property in the Windy City taking its total number of properties in the city to four.

All four properties offer something slightly different while retaining that very Kimpton combination of being upscale and friendly with excellent service, great amenities and a fabulous sense of style.

Bedecked in marble and terracotta, Kimpton Gray (which is named for the aforementioned Georgia Gray marble which has been fantastically restored) is located in the Loop neighborhood of the city and is just five or so blocks from both sister property Kimpton Allegro and two of Chicago’s must-see sights - the Art Institute of Chicago and Millenium Park.

The 293-room property is located inside the early-20th-century New York Life Insurance Building which has been painstakingly maintained to keep its history charm intact while at the same time brining plenty of modern touches courtesy of interior designers Beleco and architecture firm Gensler.

Dining options include Vol. 39, a law library-themed bar, and Boleo, an Argentinian-inspired rooftop lounge which has a retractable glass roof.

Also, bicycles are complimentary for guests, there are pet-friendly options and there is a complimentary social wine hour every evening - a beloved Kimpton tradition that offers guest the change to mingle and get a head start on a night on the town.
