The increasingly popular celebration of all things free of animal returns to the British capital for its third delicious installment
London, it would appear, is vying to be the best place in the world to be a vegan. The British capital is gaining a reputation for being a great place for those who don’t want to eat meat for whatever reason thanks to a cadre of innovative young minds that have come up with all kinds of delicious meat-free concoctions across the city.

Back in September of this year (that’s 2017 to those of you reading this in January and beyond) some bright spark at Truman Markets had the idea of bringing all of these vegan virtuosos together in once pace to share their wares. The inaugural event was such a resounding success that Vegan Nights London brought the event back for a second time this past November. A third installment is set for December 21.

We were lucky enough to be in attendance at the second gathering and we can tell you there were some incredible things on offer - and not just incredible for vegan, incredible period. On offer that night was fabulous dishes from Big V, Pig Out, Club Mexicana, Hai Dozo, What The Pitta, Jakes Vegan Steaks, and Waffle3D.
It was all good. Some vendors were more innovative (the cleverly named House of Seitan offers seitan fried chicken which was the real crowd pleaser if the queue was anything to go by) while some tweaked more traditional ideas (What the Pitta’s vegan doner kebab was easily and significantly better than the classic British post-pub treat - and better for you too). The “burger” from Big V London was also sublimely sloppy.

Located in the old Truman Brewery, East London's revolutionary arts and media quarter and home to a creative businesses and independent shops, galleries, markets, bars and restaurants, the third installment of the vegan fiesta is going to be very popular, so be sure to get there early to avoid waiting outside for too long.
And remember, you don’t have to be a vegan to appreciate the fantastic food on offer. We aren’t vegans at Ladybird of Leisure, but we appreciate good food wherever we find it, and there was penty on offer at Vegan Nights.
