The Bloody Mary is one of the cocktail world’s most famed drinks and a favorite among those in need of a little pick me up the morning after a long night. Born in the King Cole Bar at The St. Regis New York in 1934 as the Red Snapper, the cocktail is reinvented at every St Regis property, each one bringing a little local flavor to the classic.

Now, lovers of the (typically) vodka-based drink will be able to take home the original Red Snapper mix thanks to a partnership between St. Regis and Arrowhead Farms, renowned event designer Bronson van Wyck’s cocktail line.

The “Red Snapper” cocktail, more commonly known as the Bloody Mary, was born when St. Regis bartender Fernand Petiot spiced up a tomato juice and vodka libation with celery salt, pepper, cayenne, lemon and Worcestershire sauce - reinventing a simple cocktail enjoyed at Harry’s Bar in Paris. In the 1930s, the “Bloody Mary” was deemed too vulgar for the hotel’s elegant bar so it was given the name “Red Snapper.” Irreverent no more, the original recipe is still served at The St. Regis New York, where it remains the most popular cocktail; so much so that, as St. Regis grows its portfolio around the world, the brand introduces a local iteration of the famed cocktail in destinations as far-flung as Lhasa, Mauritius and Bora Bora.

Available in a 25 oz. bottle (US$28) and a mini 5 oz. bottle (US$7), they are both available from www.stregis.com/boutique and www.arrowheadfarms.com.
