"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue". This classic rhyme no longer applies to women and weddings now that British fashion label Burberry has just revealed its latest menswear collection entitled just that.
A celebration of the unification of the brand’s different ready to wear labels and styles, the collection celebrates outerwear shapes redefined for relaxed weekends, including trench coats, topcoats, duffle coats, military pea coats and parkas, and introduces a new bag shape The Satchel alongside new shoe designs The Driver and The Derby.
The show, which took place in London’s Kensington Gardens, also included looks from the latest women’s Pre-Collection, which debuted in November 2015.
Textures and Fabrics: Wool felt, double-faced cashmere checks, double splittable cashmere wool, wool mohair, wool tweed, cotton gabardine, washed denim, viscose jersey.
Colours: Navy, black, white, deep green, military green, military red, claret, purple, camel, mustard, grey, honey, blue.
Silhouettes: Military coat, topcoat, cape, duffle coat, parka, trench coat, bomber jacket, puffer jacket, field jacket, flight jacket, tailored jacket, tracksuit, wide pant, polo shirt, blue jeans.
Accessories: The Satchel, The Driver, The Derby, The Sneaker, reversible check Scottish-woven cashmere scarves.
Womenswear Pre-Collection: Highlights from the collection shown today included lace dresses, ultra-luxe sportswear and tailored boot-cut trousers as well as The Rucksack and The Belt Bag.
In acknowledgment of the sad news about David Bowie announced the day of the show, several of the models wore glitter eye make up tributes in his honour.
Key items from the new collection are now available for purchase and personalisation on Burberry.com for a few more days, giving consumers the opportunity to own pieces from the runway months before they arrive in store, as part of the brand’s Runway Made to Order service.
