A special private preview of Louis XIII was held during a VIP cocktail party at the Burj Al Arab, Dubai.
With only 200 rooms, developed at a cost of over US$7 million per room, the hotel was designed by noted luxury architect, Peter Marino. It is baroque-inspired but accented with modern elements. The “entry level” accommodations have an average gross floor area of 2,000 square feet, while the largest is over 30,000 square feet. The company also placed the largest ever order of Rolls-Royces to create a signature fleet of 30 custom Extended Wheel Base Phantoms, two of which, accented in gold, will be the most expensive Rolls-Royces ever built. During the event, the first of the hotel’s 30 custom “Stephen Red” (bespoke red with gold flakes) Rolls-Royce Extended Wheel Base Phantoms was revealed.
The hotel’s haute cuisine will feature L’Ambroisie, the first branch of the Paris origina which has held three Michelin Stars continuously since 1988. The Japanese restaurant, Tokugawa, will offer a kaiseki menu focused on award-winning Kobe beef. Tokugawa has obtained a rare license to participate in Kobe auctions for cuts from the highest-grade champion cows. In addition, Fine dining restaurant Chinoiserie will present Chinese regional cuisines.
L’Atelier, the by-invitation-only shopping experience, will offer a collection of high-end jewellery and fashion brands with jewellery starting at US$1,000,000 and fashion featuring only haute couture pieces.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the summer of 2016.
