Burberry has announced its plans to unify its Prorsum, London and Brit collections under a new single ‘Burberry’ label by the end of 2016.
In an aim to simplify the presentation of Burberry’s product range for luxury consumers both on and offline, the new label will emphasis Burberry’s British design heritage, which was established in London in 1856 where all Burberry products are still designed and developed today.
The news was released at the same time as the company announces their plans to invest £50 million in a new trench coat manufacturing and weaving facility in Yorkshire. The new state-of-the-art manufacturing and weaving facility in South Bank, Leeds is expected to finish in 2019 and will employ up to a thousand workers. The first phase of development will see a streamlined facility that will see more sustainable and efficient ways of manufacturing the iconic garment.
