As summer makes way for autumn, menus all across the city are changing to reflect that fact. One menu that has piqued our interest is Morton’s the Steakhouse, which has locations in Hong Kong (in the Sheraton Hotel) and Macau (in the Venetian).

The fall seasonal menu brings six additional menu items. First up is a somewhat luxurious appetizer of lobster stuffed roasted mushrooms (HK$180). Large mushroom caps are seasoned with garlic butter, roasted and then stuffed with lobster meat. You simply can’t go wrong with garlic butter and lobster as far as we’re concerned - so far so good!

Photo: Bone-in filet mignon

Morton’s forte is meat, so it is no surprise to see a new steak dish. The bone-in filet mignon (HK$748+) is 14 ounces of double cut filet cooked to order (but please don’t embarrass yourself by asking for it cooked anything more than medium, and even then you should really be ashamed).

Photo: Seared sea scallops

Then there is seared sea scallops Rossini (HK$325+). Simply seared, the scallops are served atop with leeks serve with black truffle foie gras butter. The smaller size of the dish could perhaps be better suited to smaller appetites.

Photos: Mashed black truffle cauliflower (upper) and bacon steak (lower)

New sides include mashed black truffle cauliflower with Parmesan and fresh chives (HK$ 105+), and slow-roasted 12 ounce bacon steaks glazed with honey-bourbon glaze (HK$180+).

And we have saved the best for last, well from our perspective at least. White chocolate bread pudding with pecans served with bourbon caramel sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream and something called white chocolate confetti (HK$110+). The new menu will roll out on November 1st, perfect timing to help nurse your post-Halloween hangover! (See a list of Halloween events in Macau here.)
