Hairy Crab Menu at Sheraton Macao's Xin

Autumn is (finally!) here and that means the hairy crab season is upon us. While a traditional pairing with this delicacy is usually rice wine or ginger tea, Xin at the Sheraton Macao is offering a more extravagant offering this year: sherry and Champagne.

The Palo Cortado VORS, a vintage sherry, is paired with the steamed hairy crab with dried basil leaves. Refreshing with a touch of ginger and dried fruit, the sherry is designed to compliment the sweetness of the crab. The steamed jumbo sized pork dumpling with hairy crab roe is paired with Ratafia de Champagne, which enhances the crab roe. The restaurant offers set menus for two (MOP1588+ with wine pairing and MOP1088+ without) and for four persons (MOP2988+ with wine pairing and MOP1938+ without).

Other items on the menu include Shanghainese rice cake with hairy crab roe, cod fish with hairy crab roe and bird’s nest roselle pudding. The menu is available until November 30th.
