Bon Jovi will be in Macau this weekend with 8pm shows on both Friday and Saturday. If you are heading to see them but haven’t thought about what to do pre- and post-show, let us give you a few ideas.
Low-key and Sophisticated
Friday

If the thought of a few hours of thundering rock tunes is making you anxious about the morning after, consider taking it easy before and after to minimize the damage. For a few low-key drinks before the concert, head to the Four Seasons to indulge in a few glasses of wine at Bar Azul’s weekly wine tasting. Along with several different wines (click here to see what they have on this week) there is a good selection of canapés on offer. A late lunch will ensure the canapés are sufficient.

If after the concert you’re feeling a bit peckish and want to continue the party just a little bit longer, head around the corner from the Cotai Arena to Cafe Deco. Food is served around the clock. They have tried, sort of, to have a 1920’s vibe with the décor but the music is often at odds with the theme, with recent rap or hip hop chart toppers blasting out instead of jazz or something more appropriate. (This might well be a moot point as you will not likely be able to hear too much anyway).
Saturday
Before the show take a stroll into Old Taipa. Casa de Tapas offers a happy hour from noon to 9pm so you can enjoy a few relaxing glasses of Cava on the rooftop before strolling to the Venetian at about 7.30pm. Pair the Cava with some tapas to give you enough energy to sing along!

Afterwards head to the Macallan Whisky Bar and Lounge for a night cap. From 9pm onwards, resident duo Jack and Crystal perform until it closes at 2am.
Raucous and Alcohol fueled
Friday

If you’re looking for a wild night from start to finish Belon in the Galaxy’s offers free-flow drinks from 5pm to 7:30pm at their bar. On offer are a couple of beers, a few different cocktails or Champagne. Fill up on oysters while you’re there; their current promotion offers different varieties including Claire de Pontac, Ostra Regal, Utah Beach and Special Grey among others (half dozen - MOP188 / one dozen - MOP358).

After the show head to SOHO in the City of Dreams where there is usually a pretty good atmosphere on Friday evening as people flock there for drink deals. They also have a free-flow option from 6pm to 9pm, but you will be able to take advantage of their buy one, get one free deal from 9pm to 11pm. El Pinball offers a bit of fun with a beer pong table.
Saturday

Before heading to the concert, check out ABA Bar at the MGM. While the atmosphere is upscale and sophisticated, you will be able to get your fill with their happy hour that runs from 5pm to 9pm. If you intend to arrive fashionably late you could catch the first part of happy hour at Lion’s Bar which starts at 7pm. Both happy hours feature buy one get one free drinks.

If you want to keep the party going into the early hours there D2 Club at Fisherman’s Wharf offers you the chance to dance till dawn.
Ladies’ night
Friday

We love Friday nights at The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge. The French-themed aperitivo evening offers five cocktails, house red and white, beers and generous and delicious gin and tonics. They also have a small but good quality selection of cheeses and snacks (Friday evening also has a fresh oyster station), making it a great place to go with the ladies. There is also live music.

When the concert is over take a cab to the peninsula to check out Macau Soul, the beautiful wine bar located right at the foot of the ruins of St. Paul’s. They close at midnight, but that is plenty of time for a glass or two from their extensive wine list (last drink order is usually at 11:15pm).
Saturday

From 6pm the JW Marriott’s pool bar offers weekend barbecues. Lounge music and cocktail-making performances will keep you entertained as you feast on seafood platters and grilled meat. MOP498++ per adult / MOP108++ for alcoholic beverage package.

After the concert head to Club Cubic where a Full Moon Party will kick off at 11:30pm. Ladies might want to take a swimsuit (or wear it under your concert outfit!) as ladies wearing swimwear get free entry before 1am.
Guys’ Night
Friday

Catch the first couple of hours of free flow wine and beer at SOHO, located in the City of Dreams. MOP150 from 6pm to 9pm; buy one get one free from 9pm to 11pm.

After the show head to Bellini to keep the party going. There will be a large screen that may be showing games from the Rugby World Cup (call ahead to be sure there is a game on).
Saturday

Start the evening at Sheraton’s buffet restaurant Feast. Starting at 6pm the restaurant offers a Brazilian rodizio where gents can feed their carnivorous cravings with plenty of slow-cooked meat. There is also a trio of samba dancers that parade around the restaurant around 7pm. And of course there are also caipirinhas on offer to get the evening started.

Afterwards drop by Morton’s for a few happy hour drinks. There is a small selection of bottled beers at a very reasonable MOP25, and they have a handful of cocktails, including their take on the classic Martini – or Mortini as it has been styled – at just MOP50.
