A new restaurant opening in a small city like Macau can cause quite a stir, especially when it is as famed as the one that just opened in the Galaxy.
Perhaps lesser known to Westerners, Fook Lam Moon in Hong Kong has been serving up authentic Cantonese cuisine since it opened back in 1948 and is well known to locals.
The grand opening ceremony of Fook Lam Moon’s Macau branch took place on Wednesday, and gave guests a preview of the latest addition to the new phase of the Galaxy.

Duncan Chui, executive director of Fook Lam Moon Restaurant Ltd, told the assembled guests at the opening that they were “very happy to start a new chapter of Fook Lam Moon in Macau. With the success of our restaurants in Hong Kong, overseas expansion was a natural move.” He added that it was “a perfect opportunity for us to start expanding abroad. This new branch of Fook Lam Moon is more contemporary in terms of design, but the cuisine and the personal touch of our service remain true to our decades of tradition.”

For over six decades the restaurant has offered diners traditional Cantonese cuisine prepared with premium ingredients.
