Last week we jumped on a ferry for a quick trip over to Hong Kong to check out the new H&M autumn / winter 2015 collection. While H&M can hardly be described as “luxury” there is an element of the mega brand that we love - more on that later.

As soon as we entered the showroom it was clear that the designers had opted for a sort of galactic theme with lots of starburst patterns, gold, and lots of different materials being used together. While a few of the pieces were certainly not to our tastes (can’t win them all) we did uncover a few pieces that will likely be taking up residence in our wardrobes come September. In Macau, the new women’s collection will only be launched at the H&M located in the Venetian and not in the brand’s flagship store, which will open Aug. 14 (details here).

Our favorite part of the collection is their Close-the-Loop initiative. Working in conjunction with their garment collection initiative, H&M seem to be putting a lot of effort into keeping old clothes out of landfill by recycling unwanted or unwearable items. Have you ever noticed those large green boxes in H&M stores? If you haven’t, read more about this great program here (and read our take on it last year here).

Exciting news for those that live in Hong Kong (or for those willing to carry large bags of shopping back to Macau) is the opening of the Causeway Bay store this autumn which will have a homeware section. Opening in time for Christmas, it will have plenty of adorable decorations as well as textiles, and other knick-knacks.

Below are a few of our favorite pieces from the new collection as well as the catwalk video. Have a look and start the countdown to September. 10!
