The saying goes April showers bring May flowers. Well, in Macau it’s more like May downpours have us running indoors to escape the torrential rain that monsoon season brings to the Pearl River Delta. But, even when the forecast looks less than appealing, there are plenty of options when it comes to indoor fun, particularly at Club Cubic in the City of Dreams.
Of course attending any event that doesn’t get going until 11:30pm, much less get buzzing until well after midnight, you may be end up feeling a little under the weather (excuse the pun) the following morning, but at least the rain means you won’t feel an ounce of guilt for watching reruns of Sex and the City while nursing your hangover with too much pizza.
If you missed Australian DJ and producer Joel Fletcher last week fear not, there are still plenty of great nights out to be had in May. Electronic dance music fans should check out Russian trio Swanky Tunes who will be performing this Saturday, May 16th (MOP250).
Starting on May 19 is the Macau International Clubbing Show after-party, which will continue until Thursday May 21. Yes, the midweek timing isn’t exactly ideal, but we’ve all had midweek hangovers. DJ trio Lia-Naomiek-Katsu will kick the celebration off on the May 19, Mike Andrea of Sacré Français will play the next day, and Sub Zero will wrap things up on May 21. MOP250 entry, with the exception of free entry for ladies on Wednesday and Thursday.
Saturday May 23 will see Korean-born DJ and producer Unjin bring his take on techno to Macau, while May 30 will see Japan-based DJ Bento in town. Both events are MOP250.
And don't forget Club Cubic’s new regular Thursday night parties, Zeng. Double Simon will be there on May 14 and Phat, Kit & Kevin Boy will be there on May 28. Admission is free for ladies, gents have to pay MOP250.
