Looking for a way to occupy the kids for the afternoon while you are lunching or lounging? The Sheraton has created a new program that offers children from four to 12 years old the chance to see what it is like to work in the hospitality industry.

The “edutainment” program is offered in two sessions, where children (or, in reality, parents) can choose between being a junior barman and chef, or a junior housekeeper and guest agent. Both sessions offer the opportunity to work alongside employees of the hotel as they are led through the tasks that each job entails. The children will be given a junior hotelier uniform which they will receive when they start “work” (along with a DreamWorks bag, a DreamWorks bottle, washcloth, and a photo frame).

The junior barman participants will learn how to make a “peach pop” mocktail which will include proper cocktail shaking technique. After enjoying their refreshing drink, they will head over to the chef’s corner where they will learn how to roll out and decorate cookies. Using pre-prepared dough, they will be able to roll out and shape the dough then use their creativity to decorate them using various toppings like almonds, chocolate, marshmallows, and sprinkles.

The second program will see them learn how to make up a bed as well as how to fold towels into animal shapes. They will also have the opportunity to learn how to greet guests in different languages, design and tailor greeting cards for guests and even learn how to decorate a romantic room for newlyweds.

At the end of their day, the junior hoteliers will receive a stamp in their “passport” and each participant who chooses to take part in both sessions will receive a T-shirt, a Sheraton bear, a DreamWorks bag, and an animal photo frame.

The programs are offered Saturday and Sunday from 2:45pm to 4:30pm until June 28th, with the chef and barman session on Saturday and the housekeeping and guest agent session on Sunday. Parents are more than welcome to participate alongside their kids.

To register, stop by the SPG family check-in counter from 12pm (weekends only). Be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the session.

Single daily session MOP150 each, weekend session MOP250 each, and accompanying adults MOP50 each
