Time flies when you’re having fun. Or when you’re too tipsy from one too many cocktails. It has already been four years since Club Cubic opened and in that time some illustrious names from the world of music have passed through its doors, including Fatboy Slim, Akon, Kelis and Hercules and Love Affair, among many others.

Kicking off Club Cubic’s April musical calendar is French producer and DJ Arno Cost on Friday the 3rd, with free entry for ladies before 1am. The following week, on Thursday the 9th, will see the launch of Cubic’s new weekly Thursday night “All-Star” parties they are calling 正Zeng (does that translate to Friday morning hangover at work by any chance?). The debut will feature Hong Kong-based DJs and performers including 24 Herbs, DJ Miss Yellow and Phat Chan. The following night, Friday the 10th, will see DJ Yves V take over the turntables (free entry for ladies before 1am again and no work the day after) and Saturday the 11th Dutch DJ and producer Sidney Samson will bring his inimitable style to Club Cubic. All events are MOP250. Doors open at 11:30pm.

And finally, the main event of the month, to help the club celebrate its birthday, will be Grammy-nominated American rapper 2 Chainz. Although hip-hop isn’t exactly our style, we at Ladybird of Leisure are never ones to pass up on a theme night, which for 2 Chainz on April 18th is a “gold and glamorous” (as if gold can ever be anything but) masked event, which is a great excuse to go and buy that white and gold dress (or is it blue and black?) you’ve been eyeing (and that gold necklace, earrings, and shoes). While visions of “Eyes Wide Shut” may spring to mind, we’re thrilled about the mystique and mystery and can’t wait to check it out.
