Last week, JW Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton offered people the chance to be one of the first to stay at the new hotels in the Galaxy Macau complex that are set to open on May 27th. “The opening of these two new hotels at the Galaxy Macau integrated resort will redefine the standard of luxury in Macau,” said Rauf Malik, vice president of operations at JW Marriott Hotel Macau and The Ritz-Carlton Macau. It will be no easy task to top the amazingly luxurious hotels that are already firmly established here, such as Wynn (read our review here); Wynn Encore (read our review here); and the Four Seasons, but perhaps Malik knows something we don’t. We are anxious to put his claims to the test this summer.

The Ritz-Carlton Macau will feature over 250 suites on the top floors of the new phase (the JW Marriott takes up the floors below and the Ritz-Carlton’s lobby is on the 51st floor) that will have luxurious facilities including spa ESPA, a fitness center, Cantonese restaurant Lai Heen, the Ritz-Carlton Bar and Lounge, and the Ritz-Carlton Cafe and Pool Bar. Wine connoisseurs will delight in the vast wine selection that will come as part of the new property, including a number of special vintage Bordeaux and some top Portuguese labels.

The JW Marriott Hotel Macau will offer over 1,000 rooms and suites and facilities including contemporary Chinese restaurant Man Ho, all day dining restaurant Urban Kitchen, a pool bar, fitness center, an upscale lobby lounge, and a kids’ club.
Guests at both hotels will have access to Galaxy Macau’s Grand Resort Deck with its Skytop Wave Pool, white sand beach, and lush green gardens.
From now until May 16th, the hotels are offering the chance to book package deals that promise guests will be among the first to experience Macau’s newest resorts (stays good from May 27th to August 31st). The JW Marriott is offering an “unlimited urban escape.” Perhaps targeting overworked Hongkongers, the package includes one-way ferry tickets for two from Macau to Hong Kong, a one-night stay for two in an executive room, a buffet breakfast for two at Urban Kitchen, access to the executive lounge for two and a welcome souvenir.

For the Ritz-Carlton’s “Unlimited Suite Experience” two guests will get a one-night stay in a premier suite, pick-up and drop-off at the ferry terminal, personalized stationery, a set dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Cafe for two, and a 60-minute spa treatment for two.
The opening of this phase of the Galaxy will be followed by the opening of St. Regis Macao (read our preview here) as well as Melco Crown’s Studio City (read our preview here).
