Photo: R Bar is serving up an afternoon tea that even the boys would enjoy
There are only a few days until Christmas arrives, and before you know it the holidays will be over just as quickly as they started. Take the opportunity to soak up the last few days of festive eating at one of the many afternoon teas across Macau.
The Hard Rock Hotel’s R Bar is offering afternoon tea for two (MOP258 + 10% service charge and 5% tax) throughout December from 3pm to 6pm. The free-flow mulled wine spurred us to try it out. Although it took quite awhile for the set to come out, the server offered tea or coffee while we waited. When it finally did come out, there was an assortment of savory and sweet snacks including roasted turkey sandwiches, Scottish smoked salmon sandwiches, pork pies, scones with cream, butter and jam, Christmas pudding, trifle, macarons, cookies, Yule log cake and cheese cake. They were arranged on a three-tiered plastic guitar which made our afternoon less of a frumpy and formal affair than normal high tea can be. The chocolate Yule log cake had cherries in the center which went down very well, and the mulled wine was fantastic (when isn’t it?) and a great way to warm up on a chilly winter day.
