Three Takeaway Options for Christmas Dinner in Macau

It’s no secret that eating out in Macau for Christmas can be pricey, particularly as options become limited as Christmas nears and sought after tables are booked up. So if you waited a bit too long to try to make a reservation or you are just trying to save a few patacas, perhaps one of the hotels can come to the rescue with a take-home meal.

Pastry Bar at the MGM Macau is offering very traditional turkey and ham takeaway meals until December 27th. Perfect for larger gatherings, their biggest turkey is 10-11kg (MOP1,458). They also offer a smaller turkey - 6-7kg (MOP858). Both turkeys come with cranberry sauce, giblet gravy, roasted new potatoes and Brussels sprouts with bacon. The ham also comes in two different sizes - 9kg (MOP1,788) and 3kg (MOP678) which includes pineapple sauce, orange sauce and the potatoes and Brussels sprouts.

The Conrad's Grand Orbit is offering traditional take-home meals until January 5, 2015. Take away options include U.S. Butterball turkey - 6.8kg (MOP1,200), whole chicken - 1.5kg (MOP250), bone-in leg of lamb - 2.5 kg (MOP800), pineapple and honey glazed ham - 2.2kg (MOP700), pistachio-crusted roasted salmon fillet - 2.2kg (MOP1,200), and U.S. black Angus beef striploin (MOP650/kg). Packages also include a choice of two vegetables: brussel sprouts; cauliflower gratin; honey roasted pumpkin; caramelised chestnuts; roasted ratatouille; fried green vegetables; butter and cinnamon baby carrots; sauteed green beans with pancetta; honey glazed parsnips and cream spinach; or salad. The sets also include two of the following: mashed potatoes; roasted potatoes; roasted sweet potatoes or chestnut and bacon stuffing. And you also get a choice of gravy, cranberry sauce, creamy lemon and white wine sauce, mint jelly, or apple sauce. Any extra portions of the above can be purchased for MOP70. The restaurant is also offering quiches, pies and cakes (MOP200 each) including bacon and cheddar quiche; asparagus, tomato and mushroom quiche; pumpkin pie; pecan pie; chocolate mousse cake; and black forest cake.

The City of Dreams has takeaway options until December 28th. Choices include: roasted US organic turkey - 8kg (MOP1,888); roasted US turkey - 6-7kg (MOP1,088); honey-baked gammon ham - 3kg (MOP928); and a combination of the roasted US turkey and honey-baked gammon ham (MOP1,788). City of Dreams is also offering a Christmas Feast (MOP1,888) that is not quite so traditional. It includes the roasted US turkey and honey-baked ham, a pizza, vegetable spring rolls, buffalo wings, fries, onion rings and a bottle of bubbly to kick off the celebrations.
