Christmas is undoubtedly one of the most stressful times of year. There is the maneuvering your way through hectic crowds to get your shopping done, the planning of parties and the cooking of holiday meals, and (although we love them) there is the entertaining of visiting friends and family. So if you feel you are about to burnout or breakdown before you have even finished your shopping, take a break and head to one of the spas below for a holiday from the holiday and recharge your Christmas batteries.
At Banyan Tree Spa Macau, Winter Escape (MOP2,888 + 10% service charge and 5% government tax) is a lengthy 150-minute three-step treatment that will be available until March. It starts off with a 90-minute classic Thai massage that combines light stretching and massaging using warm sesame oil. This is followed by a 30-minute Chinese foot massage. The whole treatment ends with a 30-minute green tea milk bath to ensure you go home feeling smooth and free of seasonal stress.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Macau is offering guests an upgrade on one of their best selling facial treatments throughout December. The Utopia Advanced Anti-ageing facial (MOP2,200 + 10% service charge and 5% government tax), is a 90-minute treatment that features products from Gaylia Kristensen (that have been designed to combat the extreme conditions in Kristensen’s native Australia) as well as a diamond collagen infusion mask designed to reveal even more youthful, luminous skin. Afterwards, rather than heading straight back into the throng of Christmas shoppers, pick up a spa hamper. With two choices - radiant face or revitalising body - the hampers are packed with popular spa products to nourish your loved ones (or yourself).

If December is the most hectic month of the year, then the final days leading up to Christmas are surely the pinnacle of the insanity. Thankfully Winter Solstice Touch found at The Spa at Wynn and The Spa at Encore will be available just in time to carry you through the holiday. Launching on December 22nd, the appropriately named 90-minute treatment starts with a relaxing scalp massage to ease stress and take you away into a world without last-minute shopping or frantic calling to book a Christmas meal. After a full-body massage using multiple Asian techniques that will improve circulation and promote energy flow, a deep-tissue massage will end the treatment. Using a blend of rosemary, ginger, lavender and black pepper oils, you will leave the treatment ready to tackle the holidays. The Spa at Encore includes an additional 30 minute use of your private suite’s facilities (MOP1,500 + 10% service charge and 5% government tax) and The Spa at Wynn includes an additional 30 minutes use of the shared facilities (MOP1,300 + 10% service charge and 5% government tax).
