Now that it’s December the holiday festivities are in full swing. After the time and energy that has been spent gallivanting all over town making the most of the season, the last thing you want to do come Christmas is spend hours slaving in the kitchen. We’ve selected a few Hong Kong restaurants that are offering seasonal fare and promise to leave you without a single pan or plate to wash.

Those looking to reward themselves with a decadent holiday meal can dine at Michelin two-starred Duddell’s. The Christmas Eve menu features eight authentic Cantonese dim sum dishes and includes steamed egg white with fresh crab claw; sautéed Australia M9 wagyu beef with kale and morel mushroom; and chilled pumpkin and coconut pudding with baked preserved egg puff and ginger. HK$1,180 + 10% service charge per person which includes a welcome glass of ‘R’ de Ruinart Champagne.

Aberdeen Street Social is offering a traditional Christmas lunch for those who can’t make it home for the holidays. Throughout the month of December, a two-course (HK$238 + 10% service charge) or three-course (HK$288 + 10 service charge) Christmas lunch is available. Choose between a choice of three appetizers, three main entrees and three desserts. Dishes on offer include smoked salmon with beetroot salad; ham hock ballotine; and apple pear with caramel. There will also be a glass of mulled wine gratis. If you want more (and honestly who has just a single glass of delicious mulled wine?) additional glasses are HK$110.

Cocotte, the charming French bistro in Central, is offering guests a little...je ne sais quoi this holiday season. For HK$1180 guests will be presented with a five-course meal that includes blue lobster bisque; guinea fowl medallion stuffed with chestnut mousseline; a selection of cheese from Parisian-cheese shop Alleosse; and a traditional Yule log with tea coffee and mignardises. And why not wash it all down with a glass of complimentary Perrier-Jouet champagne. Available for dinner Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Those looking to learn how to create restaurant-quality food at home will delight in the festivities offered from the InterContinental Hong Kong. Guests will have the opportunity to learn a few cooking techniques as they watch chefs prepare a three-course menu, which is then served to the spectators along with a glass of wine. The pick of the sessions for us is on December 13th, when guests will have the opportunity to watch SPOON Executive Chef Stephane Gortina prepare scallop salad and black truffle; beef wellington; and dessert (HK$1,888 + 10% service charge). The cooking with the culinary stars courses are offered in four-hour sessions (which start at 10:30am) on Saturday December 6th, 13th and 20th.

The Peninsula is offering a slew of festive meals at their various restaurants. From the Christmas Eve set dinner at Cantonese restaurant Spring Moon (HK$1,088 + 10% service charge) to a six-course Christmas Eve gala dinner at Gaddi’s (HK$3,088 + 10% service charge) there is a little something for everyone. Visitors on Christmas Eve will also have the opportunity to visit the hotel’s new Christmas Market which is modelled after the traditional markets found throughout Europe. To spread some seasonal cheer (and bribe you to attend), a range of canapes, sweetmeats and festive drinks will be served during the market for two hours from 6pm.

Rather than dreaming of a white Christmas, why not take advantage of the mild winter and head to The Backyard at Langham Place in Mongkok. The Australian home-style barbecue buffet offers a variety of tasty morsels from Down Under including Australian lamb chops, rib eye steaks and New Zealand king prawns. Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner is offered from 7pm to 10pm (HK$550 + 10% service charge). For an extra HK$158 enjoy a free flow selection of craft beer, wine, juice and soft drinks

The newly opened Gordon Ramsay restaurant Bread Street Kitchen is offering a set menu for carnivores and vegetarians alike. Priced at $588 + 10% service charge, each menu offers an appetizer, choice of main course, and choice of desserts. The menu includes a terrine of foie gras, and roasted Canadian lobster to start; choice of steamed snapper or stuffed turkey for the meat eaters; and pumpkin soup then the choice of roasted squash or flat bread for the vegetarians. Both options include either Eton mess or chocolate tart for dessert.

Peruvian restaurant Mayta is offering Hongkongers a taste of old Peru without journeying halfway across the globe (although pushing your way through the crowds to actually get to Mayta isn’t exactly a cakewalk either). A selection of snacks including pumpkin cream, sweetbreads, Andean potatoes and baby corn and cheese, will kick start your palates. These will be followed by a choice of a cold appetizers including shrimp cocktail; solterito (a bean salad with quinoa, avocado cream and miso dressing); or veal carpaccio, which will be followed by a choice of a hot appetizer including roasted octopus; beef skewers; or pan con chicharron (a Peruvian rib dish). A choice of suckling pig; arrzo con pato (rice with confit duck leg); or quinoa risotto are the mains on offer. Rounding off the menu is carrot pie or Peruvian doughnuts. HK$488 plus 10% service charge.

The Mira Hong Kong is offering a smorgasbord of holiday treats (alongside Santa and a choir belting out holiday favorites) including roasted turkey, prime rib and roasted halibut along with lobster, crab, and oysters. Desserts include all the classics - gingerbread, mince pies, pecan pie and Christmas pudding - as well as a three-foot Yule log. Not-so-traditional, boozy offerings include Baileys-chocolate baba, red wine chocolate mousse, and eggnog tart.

Christmas Eve dinner HK$918 + 10% service charge (5:30pm to 8pm) HK$998 + 10% service charge (8:30pm to 11pm)

And if on Boxing Day you find that you didn’t quite stuff yourself enough, the Mira is offering Boxing Day brunch for HK$488 + 10% service charge (11.30am to 3pm).

Free-flowing sparkling wine is available during brunch on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
