The Secrets to Summer Splendor

As the seasons change, beauty products and routines often change along with them. So you’re not stuck relying on the heavy facial creams, and the dark drab color palate that carried you through the winter, we’ve rounded up some must haves to help you (and your body) survive the summer.

In the summer our skin often goes into oil-production overdrive, and the last thing we need is to willingly slather it on our faces in the form of moisturizer. For your lips, the lipstick from Giorgio Armani’s Bright Ribbon collection (HK$260) combines intense color, the translucence of a gloss and the soothing comfort of a balm to bring you a lipstick trifecta, ideal for a lightweight, moisturizing tinge of color. Although we love all six of the beautiful shades in the Bright Ribbon collection (inspired by the colorful gardens of the Mediterranean) we’re particularly fond of their purple hue, Prune Star.

For great eye colors that won’t smudge or smear in the heat, Shu Uemura has crafted the Drawing Pencil (HK$190) in time for the summer. Available in a 21 colors and four textures, they are designed to be mixed and matched. We love the gold glitter and white coupled together for a bright alluring gaze.

If you’re looking for a less polished look for your hair, then fake a day at the beach with Bumble & bumble’s Surf Foam Wash Shampoo (HK$220) and Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner (HK$230). Giving hair body, texture and a sea breeze style, you can don a head full of sexy tresses, without having to journey all the way to the beach.

Show your lips some more love with Lancome Lip Lover (HK$230). Technically a gloss, this collection features an array of feminine shades ranging from nudes to bright corals. Our favorites are Orange Manège and Framboise Étoile, which are beautiful, bright colors that are fantastic for summer. We particularly love that you can intensify the color by adding more layers, making it ideal to carry your lips from day to night.

As the humidity is at an all time high, it seems like bad hair days are too. We love the oil-infused products from Moroccanoil, particularly their frizz control (HK$360) to help us tame our unruly manes.
