A Wide Awakening at The Spa at Wynn Macau

While in Macau it’s all too easy to get carried away with the fast pace of the casinos, night clubs and bars. If you find that you are in need of a little break between the bets and the buffets, the spa just may be the haven of quiet you are looking for.
The Facilities
Located on the first floor of Wynn Tower, The Spa at Wynn has received the renowned Forbes travel guide five-star award, and it’s obvious why. An oasis of indulgent pampering, the locker rooms are stylish and have fantastic facilities, including showers, a steam room, a sauna and a whirlpool.
After changing into my robe, I was led to my couples suite where my boyfriend and our therapists awaited me. The therapists gave us a few minutes to get situated before the massages started. Showering beforehand is recommended as you will not want to wash the treatment off for 4-6 hours afterwards. Showers are conveniently located in each suite.
The Treatment
I decided to try the new 90-minute Signature Silk and Cashmere Awakening treatment (HK$1,400 + 10% service charge and 5% tax) which was actually created by the therapists themselves. The massage starts with an exfoliation of the back, arms and legs, followed by a light massage using a warm silk glove. I loved the way the silk glided over my skin, and even more when the warmed lotus oil was applied afterwards. The therapist was very gentle and the massage was light and relaxing.
Just as I was starting to get a tad uncomfortable from laying on my stomach for 45 minutes it was time to turn over and repeat the treatment on the front. The process ended with the application of a cashmere-infused lotion and I was tucked into a silk/cashmere body wrap.
The treatment ended with a body cream of lotus flower extract and shea butter that had a tint of shimmer that left my skin (and my boyfriend's whether he liked it or not) glowing.
Overall, this was an incredibly enjoyable experience. Although I usually opt for deep tissue massages, a nice relaxing skin treatment is only a good thing to indulge in from time to time.
